Initially I did a brick wall test which showed that the right side of the frame was as sharp as the left side (or close enough). I didn't take any pictures like you made because I'm not convinced that photographing a printed sheet of paper at close range would give me enough useful information about the lens. Maybe through some quirk of fate Sony sent only good ones to Australia.Ĭan we see some of your pictures like the one I made with my bad copy? Make that six out of six because I have a good copy of the Distagon FE 35/1.4 too. Of course these people are in some sense random: they aren't preselected to want to tell the web about their bad copy.
But my own experience of it, and all the people known to me personally who have it (admittedly only five - photo nut mates here in Oz) is five out of five good copies.
